The mission of Independence Mission Schools is to provide a transformative Catholic education that develops students intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually, and that provides children of all faiths with the opportunity to learn in an academically rigorous environment and to grow in a culture of love, setting them on the path to a promising future.
As part of the Independence Mission Schools (IMS) network of 14 Catholic schools, St. Gabriel Catholic School is living out the IMS mission with a committment to empowering our diverse community by upholding our Catholic Values through holistic education, collective accountability and individual responsibility.
We are located in the heart of South Philadelphia convenient to all major public transportation. We believe in educating not only the mind, but the spirit as well.
We believe that STUDENTS COME FIRST!
We begin our educational, spiritual and moral foundation in the Pre-Kindergarten class and carry on the process all the way through the 8th grade. Our faculty is a group of dedicated men and women who are well trained and educated to reach our school goals. The student body is made up of one class of every grade with small class sizes.
We are a multi-cultural environment and we stress the value of every human being. We encourage kindness, compassion, respect and tolerance.
All children are welcomed at St. Gabriel School regardless of race, gender, or faith. While each child’s faith and religious practice is respected and prayerfully supported; St. Gabriel School will practice the Catholic faith. All students are expected to participate in prayer, daily religious instruction and planned religious services. This is an important part of the curriculum, character and philosophy of St. Gabriel School.
